Peaceful Alternatives Counseling & Therapy, LLC is an Outpatient Mental and Behavioral Health Agency dedicated to providing quality professional community-based behavioral health services aimed to facilitate positive mental and behavioral health growth and transformation. Due to our growth and the increasing demand for our services, we are currently looking for a dedicated individual to fill the position for Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP).
The Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) position requires active state licensure in good standing as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, supervising non-licensed support staff (MHP’s & MHS’s), conducting recipient assessments for treatment, diagnostic evaluations, psychotherapy, individual and family counseling. We are looking to fill full-time positions but will consider part-time applicants.

JOB DESCRIPTION
LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL
Supervises non-licensed support staff. Conducts recipient assessments for treatment and performs diagnostics evaluations in accordance with the standards of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual. Provides counseling with emphasis on prevention and support. Work with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental and emotional health. May help individuals deal with issues associated with mental and behavioral health, addictions and substance abuse; family, parenting, and marital problems; stress management; self-esteem; and aging.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently Licensed in the State of Louisiana as a Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker
- Valid Driver’s License in good standing

- Must have Internet Access to conduct Telehealth Services and Telecommute from home
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to: Director of Clinical Operations
- Supervises: Non-License Support Staff as assigned by the Director of Clinical Operations
JOB TASKS
- Maintain confidentiality of records relating to recipients’ treatment.
- Assess patients for risk of suicide attempts.
- Collect information about recipients through interviews, observation, or tests.
- Guide recipients in the development of skills or strategies for dealing with their problems.
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience, knowledge and competencies.
- Fill out and maintain recipient-related paperwork, including federal- and state-mandated forms, recipient diagnostic records, and progress notes.
- Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports.
- Evaluate recipients’ physical or mental condition, based on review of recipient information.
- Refer patients, recipients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
- Act as recipient advocates to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
- Modify treatment activities or approaches as needed to comply with changes in recipients’ status.
- Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, or supporting recipients or patients.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs on recipients’ progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.
- Monitor recipients’ use of medications.
- Learn about new developments in counseling by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, or establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies.
- Gather information about community mental health needs or resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy.
- Supervise other counselors, social service staff, assistants, or graduate students.
- Coordinate or direct employee workshops, courses, or training about mental health issues.
JOB TYPE: Full-Time
HOURS: Monday thru Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
PAY: Starting Pay is $55,000 per year (or depending on experience).

Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) and Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW)
JOB DESCRIPTION
Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) and Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) is a Master’s Degree Level clinician who provides direct individual interventions to children, adolescents and adults experiencing Mental/Behavioral Health difficulties. The PLPC’s/LMSW’s primary responsibilities include providing community based CPST/PSR services, individual intervention, crisis intervention, maintaining recipient records, timely completing service logs and progress notes, and performing quality assurance functions as needed. The PLPC/LMSW provides critical support to the supervising Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) in completing recipient service reauthorizations and reassessments and helping to develop and implement a person-centered treatment plan utilizing specific intervention techniques, and individualized structured activities.
The PLPC/LMSW normally meets to provide services within the recipient’s home, school, or other community setting. During the COVID crisis the PLPC/LMSW will be required to provide all services remotely via telehealth communications and must have the necessary technological capabilities and equipment to do so.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in counseling and guidance, psychology, sociology, human services, or social work
- Additional qualifications required for PLCP and LMSW positions include: must be a Board Certified Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or a candidate pursuing licensure or one whom has received provisional licensure as a Professional Counselor under the provision of R.S. 37:1101-1115 (PLPC)
- Must have a Computer and Internet Access to conduct reliable Telehealth Services from home

JOB TASKS
- Provide Mental/Behavioral Health Services to individual recipients within community settings (via Telehealth Communication).
- Write accurate and descriptive progress notes for each session.
- Attend required supervision meetings with a clinical supervisor.
- Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports.
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop treatment plans and perform clinical reassessments and/or service reauthorizations.
- Refer patients, recipients, or family members to community resources.
- Act as client advocates to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
- Consult family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, or supporting recipients.
- Monitor recipients’ use of medications.
JOB TYPE: Part/Full-Time
HOURS: Sunday thru Friday – (Flexible Work Schedule)
SALARY RANGE: Starting at $22.00 per hour ($45,760.00 a year – Full-time).
This is a W9/1099 Contractor position that can potentially transition into a non-statutory clinical administrative position with a company benefit package.
